Obituary for Michael E. Shanahan

Michael E.  Shanahan
Michael Shanahan of Palisades, New York, husband of Beverly Warwick, passed away December 26, 2023.
Mr. Shanahan was born in Bronx, New York and raised in Rockland County, NY.
After earning multiple Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering, and prior to embarking on a legal career, Mr. Shanahan was a Staff Engineer at Allied Signal, Aerospace (now Honeywell) where he worked on numerous high-profile projects including the International Space Station. He is listed as an inventor on 21 US patents.
Mr. Shanahan’s focus was on patent litigation, licensing, mergers and acquisitions, and complex patent prosecution for numerous Fortune 500 companies. Most recently Mr. Shanahan was a partner at Ellenoff Grossman & Schole LLP.
He had a passion for technology and invention, an entrepreneur at heart. More recently, he was the General Counsel of General Patent Corporation. Mr. Shanahan worked on many high-profile cases; however, his passion was for technology and invention. He wanted to support and represent the “little guy”.
Mr. Shanahan is the recipient of multiple National Law Journal “Hot List “Awards for Intellectual Property and Winning Litigators.
Surviving is his wife, Beverly J. Warwick, his daughters, Samantha Jane Shanahan and Amani (Kate) Shanahan. His son, Jackson Shanahan. Parents Leslie and Suzanne Shanahan of Jamesville Virginia. His brother Tim Shanahan (Lana) of Washington, NJ. His brother, Dennis Shanahan of Jamesville, Virginia.
A Memorial Service will be offered Saturday, January 6, 2024, 11:00 AM and The Palisades Presbyterian Church, Washington Spring Road, Palisades, NY.
Memorial Contribution can be made in Michaels Honor at Make A Gift-Manhattan College.
