Charlotte Mills Mouquin  Voznesenskaya
Charlotte Mills Mouquin Voznesenskaya, 41, of Valley Cottage, New York died unexpectedly of natural causes on August 25, 2023. Born in New York, NY, Charlotte was an adored wife, loving and pure-hearted mother, dear daughter, fun-loving sister, gregarious aunt, and amazing friend.
Charlotte lived life to the fullest. She was an artist in spirit and in trade, having graduated from the Master’s School in 2000, studied at the Pont Aven School of Art (France), in 2001, earned her BFA in Fine Arts from Parson’s School of Design in 2004, a master’s degree in Art Education from the Tufts University/School of the Museum of Fine Arts in 2005, a master’s degree in Contemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art/University of Manchester in 2009, and a Certificate in Arts & Culture Strategy from UPenn/National Arts Strategies in 2019. Until her death, Charlotte served as the Executive Director of the Pelham Art Center and was an artist/curator/educator at CharVoz Studio & Projects, having previously been the Director of the Rush Galleries and Curator/Gallery Manager at Clover’s Fine Art Gallery. For a short time, Charlotte taught art to students in Vermont.
Charlotte loved to visit her extended family in Ukraine, and traveled to Brazil and Europe with friends and family. She was always up for an adventure. She enjoyed concerts, plays, and art. She often attended art openings, gallery shows, and artist meetings. She loved experiencing everyone’s art including making her own. Charlotte was the life of every party. Her spirit will continue to be felt with every toast, carol, and family meal.
Charlotte leaves her beloved husband, Alex Voznesenskiy and daughter, Zara, to continue spreading love and making memories. She also leaves her mother, PJ; brothers Henri (Jacki) and James (Katrina) Mouquin; mother-in-law Tanya Hoffmann; niece Keira, nephew Marc, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends to remember her. Her father, Charles Mouquin, predeceased her.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, August 30 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Hannemann Funeral Home, Nyack, NY. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, August 31 at 11:00 a.m. at Palisades Presbyterian Church, Palisades, NY. Donations may be made to the Pelham Art Center’s Capital Campaign in Charlotte’s memory.
